Kantasatama Harbour in Kotka

The Kantasatama Harbour in Kotka is located on Kotkansaari and it is part of the city’s urban structure. The current local plan for the area enables the construction of retail, cultural and tourism services in the area.

Located in Kantasatama Harbour is the Maritime Centre Vellamo, which houses the Maritime Museum of Finland, the Kymenlaakso Museum and the Coast Guard Museum. The new campus of Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) in Kotka, the Kotka Event Centre and a hotel will be built in the Kantasatama Harbour area in the next few years.
