Green Transition projects across Finland will need increasing amounts of renewable electricity in the future. Wind power is cheap, reduces carbon emissions from energy production, and brings jobs and property tax revenues to municipalities. Wind power generation will multiply in the coming years, enabling the use of the renewable green energy generated, for example in various products of the hydrogen economy.
A significant share of wind power production is being developed in Western Finland, from where it can be transferred to Eastern Finland by strengthening the grid. Increasing local electricity production is also important, and the conditions for wind power construction are being actively explored in cooperation with wind power developers and the authorities.
