Ren-Gas receives significant early-stage investment assistance from Cursor

Nordic Ren-Gas Oy is planning a Power-to-Gas production plant in Kotka. The aim is to build a plant that will produce renewable e-methane, hydrogen and district heat from waste heat. The e-methane will be used as a fuel for heavy road transport and shipping.

The renewable fuels produced by Ren-Gas will reduce the use of fossil fuels in heavy road and maritime transport by up to 250 million litres per year. – For us, one critical factor was the availability of carbon dioxide. We are working closely with Kotkan Energia. We capture carbon dioxide from the chimney of the Korkeakoski power plant and transport it to our future production plant in Mussalo.

Göös also praises the infrastructure in the Mussalo area, the cooperation with the port and the availability of electricity and water.

– There is no production plant without a site. The Kotka-Hamina region attracts investment because of its gas network and port. We will have a good project in the region.
