Despite its northern location, there are good production conditions for solar power also in Finland. Total solar irradiation in southern Finland is on a par with central Europe. Solar power is a clean, renewable and almost limitless energy source with a low environmental impact. Annual irradiance is also at a good level in Kymenlaakso.
Major solar power projects are currently underway in each of the municipalities in our area of operation, which will provide us with more locally produced energy.

Helios Nordic Energy, a developer of solar parks in the Nordic countries, has submitted a zoning initiative to the municipality of Pyhtää to explore the feasibility of building a solar power plant in Pyhtää Itä-Kirkonkylä. The company has already signed a lease agreement for a plot of land of more than 100 hectares in the immediate vicinity of the Fingrid Oyj power plant line on the north side of the motorway.
